One thing I spotted quite frequently along the trail were, mushrooms.
The conditions in the forest were perfect, especially since it had rained recently.
Beforehand, Cody and I decided that since he was hauling all the gear,
he wouldn't wait while I took photos. I stop waaaay too often!
At the beginning of the trail, I withheld from taking photos of the fleshy fungi.
By the second day in the woods, I couldn't take it any longer. I had to shoot the mushies.
I kept my eyes on the trail floor, making mental notes of the many mushrooms we passed.
I didn't take photos of every single one, if I did that, I may not have ever caught up with Cody!
However, I still paid close attention to what was sprouting from the earth.
I haven't attempted to identify any of them, so if you know, I encourage you to speak up.
And since we're discussing the details, I'd like to share this very inspiring video.
I've had it on my list for a while now. I'm was just slow to post it.
I was seriously blown away by this guys talent.
He's been around for a while, so it's nothing new, but
it's truly amazing.

that angel in the white tutu is truly an intricate beauty! your captures are perfect, the setting of each is like a world unto themselves.
yes i am paying attention. it's like i am learning to take in the details as a whole. instead of one thing i'm seeing the thing in the context of the larger thing. like your little mushroom planets.
The mushies are adorable. The sharpness and colour of the photos are fantastic. I love the fairytale style they have about them. It is nice to notice things the often get missed.
Thanks for sharing the video too even though I feel some what inferior now. What an amazing memory and eye for detail.

I think my first response was to pick and eat the lovely fungi... I felt like I was laying on the ground enjoying each one, and their unique characteristics.

What a variety of mushrooms you have in that forest. It's amazing to see the different shapes and colors. We only seem to have the boring beige ones! You've photographed them so beautifully. (I like how robin compares the first one to a tutu. It really does look like one!)

Best work yet.Just keep doing what you are doing.stephen the gift he as many like him with diffrent gifting but only a few see it.What do i say to those who look at art and say i can't do that when they never try. and yet we see many of those with gifts not given a chance.i have over the years seen work that the world should see but it's done behind closed doors. because people put down many with giftings at a young age and told to do something other than art.and again what do i say to those who abort babies all that talent kill and each person as some gift to give to the world. sad.Your work is so good and better still you are seeing more with your mind plus your eyes.

Those are wonderful mushroom shots. It's funny how we both posted mushrooms. It feels like the season of mushrooms around my house. The wine colored one you shot is one of my favorites. I haven't seen any like that around here.
